“Have you thought of starting a food blog?” I’ve been hearing this from many friends ever since I started posting food photos on Instagram over a year ago. A food blog has definitely been on my mind for a while now. I’m always excited about trying out new recipes, creating new (and sometimes odd!) dishes and checking out new restaurants. I love sharing stories of food with friends and family. Food is something I’m genuinely passionate about and love. But, the thought of having to “write a blog” has kept me away from starting one for a long time. To be honest, I’ve never been a big writer or reader ever since I was young. So, for a long while, I simply settled with regular Instagram posts.
It wasn’t until after last weekend’s Thanksgiving dinner that I decided it’s time to finally put together a blog and start kwangskitchen.com. Short story is I came up with my own version of roast turkey and stuffing, after browsing through various sites, that mom said is “so (surprisingly) good and must be written down!” I agree with her that I should jot it down somewhere before I forget because it will be at least another year before I cook turkey again. ( fyi I’m quite a forgetful person…) And then I thought to myself, if I had to write it down somewhere, I might as well write a blog about this and many other things I have cooked as a way to remind myself and a way to share with those who may be interested as well! So… here we are :)
